Interlude – The Floral Dance

The Floral Dance – “Katie” Moss (1887 – 1947

“We danced to the band with the curious tone
Of the cornet, clarinet and big trombone
Fiddle, ‘cello, big bass drum
Bassoon, flute and euphonium
Each one making the most of his chance
Altogether in the Floral Dance”

I love this Peter Dawson version – it brings back childhood memories

  1. Simple but glorious blooms; and an uncomplicated and wonderful voice, that of Peter Dawson. I’m old enough to remember hearing him played on the radio all the time ..

  2. Beautiful photos! I always associate ‘Floral Dance’ with the British TV host Terry Wogan and it’s not something I’d heard for years, then last week it was played at a relative’s funeral. I think it was the first time I’d listened to the words. 🙂
